John Pantano

In his early career, John Pantano focused on numerically determining fluid flow and characterization of source rocks, seals, carrier beds, and reservoirs. He took that knowledge to help characterize and remediate large super fund and industrial impacted ground and surface water systems in the next decade and a half. After working directly for ARCO, BP, and Saudi Aramco, he has consulted for large and small firms in the energy and environmental field. John is passionate about cost-effective and environmentally friendly solutions for demanding business ventures.

John has provided internal decision support for projects and portfolios at ARCO, BP and ARAMCO. Since 2010 he has consulted for Carnarvon, Chesapeake, Concho, DeGolyer & MacNaughton, Hess, Houston Energy, Hyperdynamic, ION, JHI, Laredo, Marathon, Pakistan Petroleum, and Pearl Petroleum in evaluating their subsurface assets. John was the founding director of the Chevron Center of Research Excellence at Texas A&M. There he spearheaded collaborative, multidisciplinary research projects with geoscientists and petroleum engineers from Chevron and other companies to further understand petroleum systems, sedimentary basins, and unconventional petroleum resources.

Although most of the John’s work is confidential, a few recent open publications are available for open debate and discussion.
